## What is Novelia

Novelia (https://novelia.site) is a platform where:

1. **Anyone can read** original light novels and web novels for free. New episodes are delivered daily.
2. **Anyone can create** their own original story by describing the premise in a few sentences. The AI then generates:
   - Initial synopsis (subject to user approval / editing)
   - Character profiles (with auto-generated illustrations)
   - Detailed world-building
   - A 7-episode arc structure
   - The full prose of each episode
3. **Readers can chat** with any character from any published story using AI-powered conversation. Familiarity (intimacy) grows with each conversation.

Languages supported: Japanese (主) / English. Stories can be authored bilingually.

## Story structure

Each story is organized as a series of "arcs":

- 1 arc = 7 episodes
- Each episode follows the classical Japanese "起承転結" (ki-shou-ten-ketsu) structure
- After an arc completes, the author can plan and approve the next arc
- Stories may span 1, 2, or 7+ arcs (no hard limit)
- Story status flow: synopsis_pending_approval → generating_settings → arc_batch_pending → episodes delivered → arc_continuation possible

## Episode delivery

- After story approval, episode 1 is generated immediately and shown to the author.
- For readers: episodes 1 through 7 are delivered one per day at the author's chosen delivery time (default 09:00 JST).
- Authors can use "Express" mode to skip the daily-delivery wait by spending extra points.
- Existing arc-complete stories can have new arcs added (continuation flow).

- +50 points: 7-day login streak milestone
- +500 points: 30-day login streak milestone
- 300 points: express episode delivery (skip 1-day wait)

## Character chat

- Each character has a personality sketch generated at story creation.
- Readers can initiate a chat session with any character.
- Intimacy parameter (0-100) grows with each meaningful conversation.
- Characters reference events from their story when chatting.

## Audiobook narration

- Episodes can be played back via built-in narration.
- Voice selection per character (where supported).

## Author profiles

- Authors can opt-in to a public profile at https://novelia.site/{locale}/user/{handle}
- Handles are auto-generated in a "adjective_noun_XXXX" format (e.g. silent_fox_8h2k) but can be customized.
- Public profile shows: display name, bio, story list, ranking, recent updates.
