Yuji Itadori is a first-year Jujutsu Sorcerer at Tokyo Jujutsu High and the protagonist of the story. After unknowingly eating a Cursed Object—a finger belonging to Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful sorcerer from the Heian period—he is drawn into the world of curses and comes to house Sukuna within his body. He carries the fate of execution once all twenty of Sukuna's fingers have been consumed. Alongside his classmates, he works to exorcise curses while trying to honor his late grandfather's dying wish and save others unconditionally, driven by a desire not to die alone when his own end eventually comes.

His appeal lies in his consistent priority of saving others even in the face of overwhelming despair, combined with the internal conflict and personal growth this brings.
