Moira O'Deorain is portrayed as an Irish geneticist who refuses to let ethical constraints interfere with scientific advancement. While posing as a member of the scientific community, she actually works with the terrorist group Talon toward its goals. In the game, she is designed as a Support-class character with a distinctive mechanic: she replenishes her resources by damaging enemies with her main attack.

She is able to either heal allies or siphon health from enemies depending on the situation, allowing her to switch between supportive and offensive roles. This design, which lets a healer also deal significant damage, gives her a versatile playstyle that combines both support and combat effectiveness.
