Jill Valentine is a fictional character in the Resident Evil series. Introduced in the original 1996 game, she appeared alongside partner Chris Redfield as a member of the Raccoon City Police Department's S.T.A.R.S. unit. She fights the Umbrella Corporation, a pharmaceutical company whose bioterrorism creates zombies and other bio-organic weapons, and later becomes a founding member of the United Nations' Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA). She serves as the protagonist of multiple Resident Evil games, novelizations, and films, and has also appeared in other companies' game franchises.

Throughout the series, Jill works alongside Chris as a central figure confronting the threat posed by Umbrella. With a background in a police special tactics unit, she carries out missions in crisis situations while cooperating with her allies. Having served as a lead character across numerous entries over the years, she holds a position as one of the series' recurring central figures.
