Ogino ChihiroFan Fiction (Spirited Away)

Chihiro Ogino is the young protagonist of the film. While moving to a new neighborhood with her family, she wanders into a mysterious world straddling the human realm and the world of spirits. After the witch Yubaba turns her parents into pigs, Chihiro takes a job at Yubaba's bathhouse in order to find a way to free herself and her parents and return home. Her resourcefulness in finding work and determination to save her parents despite being thrown into an unfamiliar world are central to her appeal. Her ability to hold onto her sense of self even after having her name taken from her is also noted as a defining trait of the character.
